Warm weather fuels surge in inter-league challenge

Leagues are to report their own results weekly by Sunday night. The above is a screenshot taken Tuesday morning, Feb. 23. For the most up-to-date results see the Results page.

As temperatures warmed last week, Move for Mental Health challengers picked up their paces with almost every league reporting higher totals for Week 7 than for frigid Week 6.

In Ritchie, participants logged 735 more kilometres, reporting 3,276 km last week and 2,541 km the week before.

The 18 leagues, which are chasing the bragging rights as the most active league, have collectively skied, skated, run, biked and walked 81,576 km since the Move for Mental Health Challenge began Jan. 1. (Some leagues are banding together to report results under one community’s name in the chart above).

With five weeks to go, there is still time to join the fun and spur your neighbours on with a little friendly competition.
