Remember Ritchie School at June 22 Bbq

Ritchie School still stands at 9735 75 Ave., but not for long. Stantec, which is building the replacement school next door, invites you to a farewell BBQ June 22, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring any photos or Ritchie School and memorabilia you would like to showcase. You’ll also be able to request materials like bricks be set aside for you when the time comes to bring the venerable structures down.

League members are Tool Library members too

Borrowing privileges are free with your Ritchie Community League membership

Ritchie Community League members are now members of the Edmonton Tool Library and can borrow from among its 1,150 items FREE. At its June 6 meeting, the league joined 42 others in sponsoring the Library, which is housed at the Bellevue Community Hall (7308 112 Ave.). It’s open twice a week for pick ups and drop offs, but its collection is searchable online, anytime.

Cancelled Monday, April 15: Total Body Challenge and Zumba

If Total Body Challenge and Zumba at the Ritchie Community League are part of your fitness routine, take note! Both are cancelled tomorrow, Monday, April 15.

Total Body Challenge is cancelled until further notice due to low turn out.

As April 15 was Zumba’s last class for the spring session, it is on hiatus now until fall.

Ritchie sponsors comedy fest

Montreal has Just for Laughs.
North Carolina has Laugh Your Asheville Off.
And now Ritchie has Grindstone Comedy Festival.

The community league is proud its sponsorship is helping bring artists like Rebecca Kohler, a Canadian Comedy Award winner, and CCA nominees Graham Clark and Mike Delamont into the neighbourhood May 8-12.

For the full (and extensive!) lineup and tickets, go online at grindstone.ca.

Breaking down Ritchie’s finances

Some years, casino funds keep Ritchie in the black, while occasionally regular revenue can cover league costs. A look at the past fiscal year, April 2018 - March 2019 paints the picture. Keep in mind, this analysis was prepared using unaudited figures. For the official reckoning, come to the Annual General Meeting, May 23 at 7 p.m.
