Calling all Edmonton gardeners! We’ve got a plant-filled presentation just for you, hosted by our friends at the Edmonton Native Plant Society.

Patrick from ENPS will be showcasing some of his beautiful photos of native plants and pollinators!

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This is for anyone who:

  • loves to garden

  • wants to learn more about native plants in Edmonton and Alberta

  • wants to grow native plants

  • wants to purchase seeds

MEET YOUR PRESENTER

Ritchie sends a warm welcome to Patrick Kyle, our presenter for the evening! Here’s a bit about Patrick in his own words:

“I am an amateur photographer and amateur naturalist. I was born and raised on a south-east Saskatchewan farm where some native prairie surrounding the farm thanks to road allowances and some native pasture land where native flowers grew. I worked for Environment Canada, Weather Services for over 35 years. I retired in 2006 and have volunteered extensively since then, doing the annual Elk Island flower count almost every year since retiring. I took the Edmonton city Master Naturist program in 2014 and have been participating with the Edmonton Native Plant Society ever since.”

Patrick now grows over 60 different native plants and shrubs in this yard!

  • Hanna, West Ritchie Director and garden coordinator

  • Becca, founder of New Grocery Movement

Hanna and Becca will be available for questions about their community gardens and other projects.

ONE VOLUNTEER NEEDED

We are looking for one volunteer to help out. You will be responsible for:

  • greeting each attendee

  • checking their name against the registration list

  • showing them where they can hang their coats and get a snack

This seated shift lasts one hour, and you are welcome to stay to watch the entire presentation!
