Synopsis: So This is Christmas the Musical tells the classic nativity story from the perspective of characters in modern day Edmonton. Mary, a young student, finds herself in a difficult spot when an angel tells her she is pregnant with the Son of God. What will Joseph think? How will her friends react? What will the leaders in the church say? And her PARENTS?! This witty, relevant and touching show features rewrites of popular songs from a wide variety of bands and artists, including The Beatles, Madonna and A Great Big World. Join us this Christmas season.

As part of ongoing efforts to improve stormwater quality across Edmonton, the City is working to address quality and erosion issues in Mill Creek. The north section of Mill Creek starts north of Argyll Road and ends at the junction of Connors and Scona Roads. The southern portion of Mill Creek was diverted into a tunnel at 75 Street when the surrounding industrial area was developed in the 1960s and 1970s. The waster in the tunnel then flows into Mill Creek north of Argyll Road.
To continue improving water quality in Mill Creek, the City has considered oil and grit separators, stormwater ponds, wetlands and sewer diversions along or near the north section of Mill Creek. These options were presented at an open house on June 9, 2016. Since then, project staff have evaluated these water quality improvement and erosion reduction options.
The City is considering the following improvements:
City staff are now seeking our feedback to determine the best way forward. Ritchie residents are encouraged to share their thoughts at a second public meeting.

Winter sidewalk maintenance - Keep Your Sidewalks Safe
Snow and ice on sidewalks is hazardous for everyone. People with limited mobility, seniors, children and parents with strollers (and even those with no mobility limitations at all) may be severely injured from a fall on ice or snow.
Uncleared walkways can also make it difficult for those who deliver services in our city—mail carriers, meter readers, delivery drivers and emergency personnel—to do their jobs safely. In fact, each year, hospitals and doctors’ offices are filled with people young and old who have slipped and fallen on poorly maintained sidewalks.
Community Standards Bylaw 14600 requires homeowners and tenants to clear snow and ice from every walk and driveway on or beside their property. Don’t forget about any other properties they own, including derelict and vacant buildings--they may have sidewalks that need to be shovelled too.
Use sand or ice-melting products to start the clearing process if you can’t shovel immediately after a snowfall. The fine for failing to clear sidewalks within 48 hours of the last snowfall is $100, so save yourself the money and get it done!

No matter what the weather does, you have places to go, and the City of Edmonton works hard to help you get there. The City has a comprehensive roadway maintenance program to help keep traffic moving safely in the winter months.

Sanding is the City’s first line of defense against slippery, unsafe roads. Streets are sanded as required to provide traction.
Plowing begins on main roads when 3 cm of snow has accumulated and more snow is forecasted. Roads are plowed in this order:
During a major plowing event -- after about 10 cm has accumulated on the ground -- you can check plowing status using the interactive map at edmonton.ca/winterroads.
Ritchie community roads are always bladed on Thursdays, regardless of which day of the week the blading cycling begins.
Blading of residential roads is initiated once a snowpack of about 5 cm has built up. But, it doesn’t begin until highways, freeways, main arterial roads and bus collector routes have been plowed.

Great news Ritchie - Yoga has returned! Join Kristal on Wednesdays from 7:15 - 8:30 p.m. at the Ritchie Community Hall. Cost is $10 with Ritchie membership or $12 without. Ritchie members can also take advantage of a 5 class package for $40.

Kristal Forrest is a wife, mother, yoga teacher, and student. She has been practicing yoga for 12 years and has had the privilege of sharing this healing practice through teaching for four years. Vinyasa means movement with breath and she is pleased to be offering a gentle Vinyasa practice to the Ritchie Community. You will use the breath to transition seamlessly in and out of each posture, to keep your awareness focused, and to begin to gently open the body. All postures have modifications available to make them accessible for beginners, as well as to challenge those with an already established practice. Whether you are looking for relaxation, community, or an opportunity to get your body moving, you can find it in this class. She can't wait to meet you on your mat!
Come out and get in shape with Dominique Demers Mondays 8:30-9:30 p.m. The classes have now moved inside the hall. Member pricing: $60 for 6 weeks. Non-Ritchie members pay $75.
Our Abandon and friends will be shaking Ritchie hall on Saturday November 5, at 6 p.m.
This will be their first show as a 5-piece band! Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Of course Ritchie Community League membership has its privileges - members get a $5 discount when they show their card.

Adult Paint Night is the place to be. Come show us how you can swirl your paint brush and your wine glass at the same time!
The next paint night will be on Thursday November 10. In this class, you will use winter- themed objects to paint a winter still life and chill out with us!
Remember, this program is for adults only but we'll take any level of experience.
