ABOUT THE LEAGUE
What is the Ritchie Community League?
The Ritchie Community League (RCL) is a member of the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL). A community league is a volunteer-run, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization that is formed to meet the unique needs and interests of residents within a defined geographic area. RCL’s boundaries include between 72 Ave to Whyte Ave, and from the centre of Gateway Boulevard to Mill Creek Ravine.

Our board members are Ritchie residents who volunteer their time and expertise to create a better community.

Board Meetings
The board of directors meet at the hall on the first Thursday of every month at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The annual general meeting (AGM) and elections are in August. There is no meeting in August and our September meeting is closed to the public, for new board training.

Responsibilities of the Board
Some of what the RCL board members do includes:
Being responsive to the individual and collective needs of its people by servicing our community through advocacy, activities, programs and support resulting in a safe and vibrant community for all.
Facilitating a dynamic meeting place for people to gather.
Maintaining and upgrading our community hall and providing sports facilities that are accessible, functional and comfortable for people to gather.
Enhancing our sustainability by:
Building and encouraging members to volunteer and be involved and engaged;
Being a league that is conscious and responsive to environmental initiatives; and
Being fiscally responsible.
