Total increases 67% in one week for Move for Mental Health Challenge

Leagues are to report their own results weekly by Sunday night. The above is a screenshot taken Monday morning, Jan. 25. For the most up-to-date results see the Results page.

Move for Mental Health is a simple challenge. Get moving. Keep the winter blues at bay. Break the bubble of pandemic isolation by adding your distance to others for community bragging rights. Donate, if you can, to charities helping others with their mental health.

It’s so simple, leagues across the city are making steady progress on a collective goal of 250,000 km by March 31. Last week alone, the leagues collectively logged more than 13,000 km for a new total of 33,070 km.

Ritchie, which launched the challenge, is in the lead with 8,211 km.

Second is Hazeldean with 5,220 km.

Bonnie Doon is close behind in third place with 4,539 km.

An extra challenge…just for Ritchie members

If you have the financial means to make a donation, consider supporting the mental health of our neighbours. We’ve set up a donation page on CanadaHelps for these three Edmonton charities:

  • i-Human Youth Society

  • The Mustard Seed (Southside Shelter)

  • Momentum Walk-in Counselling

Help us reach our goal of $2,000 by March 31.

Donations accepted via CanadaHelps to support i-Human Youth Society, Momentum Walk-In Counselling or The Mustard Seed (Edmonton).
