Update regarding progress on school construction
Good afternoon,
Here is an important update regarding our progress on the school construction.
As we have communicated previously, unseasonable weather over the summer and fall have put us slightly behind schedule. We have been presented with an unexpected chance to catch up over the coming weeks, partly due to the unpredictably nice weather we continue to have and partly due to some suddenly available additional staff.
Starting next week (November 26th-30th), we will be halting work on the gym slab to transition into putting up structural steel and assembling the outer block walls. It is finally happening – we will start building upwards!
Some materials have already arrived on site and more are on their way over the coming weeks. To take advantage of this window, the work crews are going to be working slightly longer hours each day for the next few weeks. They will still remain within the building permit limits set out in the bylaw (7AM-9PM Monday to Saturday, 9AM-7PM Sundays and holidays), and will go back to their previous working hours no later than December 21.
We thank you for your patience during construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
